8 Days and Counting

WE ARE GETTING MARRIED IN 8 DAYS!!!! Whew things are busy around here. There are so many small last minute errands to run and ends to tie up before next Saturday. Everyone is getting really excited and anxious and ready for a fun weekend. In the past month we've had three wonderful parties. I'll share a few pictures below.

Emilie and Joesph, Bill and Stephanie, Marshall and Jessica, Michael and Maconica, Marcus and Allison and Daniel S. hosted a cocktail party for us in early September. We all had so much fun and the food was fabulous, not to mention the "Summer Beer" that was served...YUMMY!

Here is Emilie:

These are the only two pictures of people I have from the shower. This is Steph (My MOH and cousin).

The next week, the ladies that I work with at the bank hosted a shower after work. We had a BLAST!!! These pictures will explain it all:

Mama and Daddy were both at the shower...well, the guys stayed for the shower but they hung out in the kitchen and ate all the food left back there.

We received so many beautiful gifts. I am truly blessed to work with so many wonderful and loving people.

They like to have a good time too. While I was opening  gifts, Val was making a hat out of the bows...Isn't it lovely???

Then we had a wedding dress designing contest...here is one model, Tish.

Later in September we celebrated at the "party barn" in Troy. A great time was had by all. The party barn is such a cool place.

Thanks everyone for being so supportive and encouraging! We love you!

One More House Update

This may be the last house update for a few weeks. The wedding is 5 weeks from today and we've taken a break from house work to rest and enjoy this time. Here is one last picture of the front porch. You can see that the stones under the porch have been repaired and the boards are complete around the top of the stone. It's really beginning to feel like home.

Let the Wedding Festivities Begin

We've taken a break from working on the house for a little while. Daniel has actually moved in and has been living there for about 2 weeks now. He promises that there are no creepy noises or anything to worry about.

We have 39 days until we get married on October 9th and we have been busy busy celebrating with our wonderful families and friends. BLESSED is the only work to describe our lives. The Lord has truly blessed us with the most wonderful families and the best friends any two people could ask for. Lately we've been able to visit with them all on several different occasions. We've had Daniel's 10-year class reunion, a birthday party, a Fish Fry/Tool Shower, and a ladies tea in Beatrice. Here are a few pictures from some those events.

The First Week of August

Here are the weeks progress pictures. We've moved in a little more furniture as you can see and the bathroom floor is finished. Daddy and Daniel have begun putting up the lattice around the house and it looks GREAT!!

I just couldn't help myself, I had to put two chairs on the front porch.

No more shower doors!!

Furniture Is Moving In

Here is where it sits now:

In the living room

Daniel's painted door is displayed in the hallway.

The bedroom is a work in progress...the table isn't staying here, just holding a lamp for now.

I can see the light!!!!

We are sooo close, Daniel and Mr. Danny have begun moving furniture into the house. The porch has a floor, the whole house has been painted and the new bathroom floor should be finished next week. Here are some pictures of the progress:

Mrs. Ginger has been over to paint. I've never seen anyone paint trim as fast and well as she does.

The living room was Khaki...now it's light blue.

We painted over the lattice work and sky on the kitchen ceiling.

The front door must be Red

Everyone questioned me wanting to paint these doors black...It's growing on them, I hope.

Finally, They Rest...

These are my two most favorite men on the planet!!
They have worked so hard on the house and it's going to be wonderful because of them. They have laughed and had a great time together in the process. There will always be Superman and Geritol jokes to remind us all of the hours they spent working together. I am so thankful for them both and praise God for the blessings of them both.
